Hello! My name is Blush and I am a unicorn. Actually, I’m a girl. Today I’m going to my new home with my new master. He is a wizard who already has two other unicorns in his magical forest. I’m really looking forward to seeing them. I’m sure we’ll be friends in no time and we’ll be one big group.
When we got to the enchanted forest, I loved it. So many beautiful trees, moss carpets and sunny meadows! And that beautiful rainbow. I immediately thought I’d take a bite out of it. That’s what unicorns love to do, nibble on rainbows. I hopped excitedly, but just as I was about to take a bite, a voice came from behind me.
“Don’t touch the rainbow, it’s ours.”
I was a little scared. I turned around and saw a large white unicorn with a slightly bluish horn standing behind me.
“Hi, I’m new here and I’m going to be staying with you. My name is Blush.”
The unicorn frowned.
“You sure won’t be living here, then,” he said. “This is where me, Azure, and my brother Crimson live. And we really don’t need another unicorn here, and a girl to boot.”
“But I’m a good girl. I won’t be in your way, I really won’t. We could be friends,” I quickly suggested.
“No way,” another voice booms. That’s when the second unicorn comes in. That must be Crimson. Unlike his little brother, his horn is beautifully red. “And don’t you dare nibble on our rainbow.”
And with that, both brothers left. I’m left standing here alone, but I know they’re watching me from afar. I’m sure they’re making sure I don’t bite their rainbow. Well, that’s trouble. A new home and they don’t want me here. It makes me sad. I lie down on the moss and wonder what to do now.
It’s not even a few hours later when I’m disturbed from my sad thoughts by a scream.
“Help! Crimson’s trapped!”
I quickly jump to my feet.
“What happened?” I ask the approaching Azure. He looks really scared.
“Crimson and I were secretly running outside our magical forest. But Crimson got caught in a trap set by poachers. If I don’t get him out quickly, they’ll come in and cut off his horn!”
That’s trouble.
“Lead me to the trap,” I command Azure. He doesn’t object and runs ahead of me to where the enchanted forest ends.
Soon the meadow opens up before us. And I can hear the cry of a unicorn trapped in a pit. He tries to jump out, but it’s too deep. What now?
“Hold on, Crimson, we’ll think of something and get you out,” I call after him down into the pit.
“Hurry up before the poachers arrive,” whimpers Crimson , sobbing.
“If we can get a few rocks into the pit, Crimson will get higher and manage to jump out,” I suggest.
“That’s a good idea, let’s do it as fast as we can,” Azur agrees and immediately runs to get a rock.
I run too, and help roll the stones that Crimson uses to build his stairs in the pit. The pit is spacious enough for him to climb out comfortably. We really need a lot of them, but Azur and I push the stones until our horns are steaming. And soon we actually manage to make steps out of stones, and Crimson quickly climbs up to us. Just in time, because we hear the sound of a car engine speeding up.
We quickly disappear into our magical forest and stop at a rainbow.
“Blush, you are the most amazing unicorn in the world. Thank you so much,” says Crimson. He’s glad to be out of that horrible trap.
“Yes,” agrees Azure. “From now on, we’ll be a team and you can eat as much of the rainbow as you want.”
“Yes, yes,” nods Crimson. “And forgive us for being so nasty to you. We’ll be pulling together now. “
“Horn promise!” Azure exclaims.
Together we lock our horns together, a sign of friendship among unicorns.
At night, when we fall asleep on the moss, I’m so happy that my horn sparkles. Azure and Crimson are my new friends and I’m sure we’ll have many more adventures together. When we are together, nothing will surprise us.
