Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Once there lived a little girl who had golden hair. That’s why everyone called her Goldilocks. The little girl often went to the forest to pick mushrooms, raspberries and strawberries. But once she went far and got lost. She walked for a long time and still couldn’t find the way home. She only got deeper into the forest.

Goldilocks was already tired and her legs hurt from the long walk. She was also hungry because she found few berries. Suddenly a house appeared in front of her.

But it wasn’t a gingerbread house or her house. This one looked strange. But good people will surely live there and they will tell her where to go. That’s why Goldilocks went to the door.

She knocked. But no one answered. She opened the door cautiously.

“Hello? Is anybody there?” she called inside. But no one answered. It looked like no one was home.

Goldilocks walked in. There were three bowls full of porridge on the table. The first bowl was large and there was a large spoon next to it. The second one was a little smaller and there was also a smaller spoon lying next to it. And the third one was the smallest, even the spoon next to it was small.

Goldilocks had been grumbling in her stomach for a long time, so she tasted the porridge from the largest bowl. But it was too hot.

“Wow! I burned my tongue!’

So she tasted from the second, smaller bowl.

“Brrr, it’s cold as ice.”

So she tasted from the smallest bowl.

“It’s just right!” she rejoiced and ate all the porridge.

When she had eaten, she was terribly tired.

“I’m so tired,” she yawned.

She was so tired that she barely made it to the bedroom. There she found three beds. One was large, the second smaller and the third the smallest. Goldilocks tried the first bed, but it was too hard.

“Wow, this bed is as comfortable as a board.”

So she tried the second bed..

“This one’s too soft,” Goldilocks called from the duvets that covered her so she was almost invisible.

She tried the third bed.

“This one is just right.”

Goldilocks fell asleep in it. She slept so soundly that even the inhabitants of the little house didn’t wake her up.

Three bears lived in the house, and they had just returned from a walk. The largest was the papa bear, the slightly smaller mama bear, and the smallest was the little bear, their baby boy.

The bears came to the table.

“Someone has been eating my porridge,” Papa Bear wondered.

“Someone has been eating mine, too,” added the mama bear.

“Someone  has been mine, too,” cried the little bear, and since he didn’t like porridge, he added: “And fortunately ate it all.”

The bears went to the bedroom and couldn’t stop wondering again.

“Someone has been sleeping in my bed,” Papa Bear complained.

“Someone has been sleeping in mine, too,” Mama Bear pointed to the creased duvets.

“Someone is sleeping in mine! And it’s a girl,” cried the teddy bear.

He woke up Goldilocks with a scream. When she saw the bears, she got really scared, jumped out of the window and ran away from the house. In that rush, she even found the right way and returned home.
